J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. Awarded Nationwide GSA Contract

(WASHINGTON DC) The General Services Administration (GSA) has selected J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. (JMWA®) as a prime contractor on the Nationwide Construction Management Services Contract. This contract is a nationwide GSA Contract available for use by the GSA and its 11 Regional Offices. The contract ceiling is $10 million annually and is awarded for a base year and four option years for a total maximum value of $50M.

JMWA, a leader in construction management services, will serve as prime contractor assisting GSA with a wide variety of construction projects. Potential work under this contract includes new construction and renovation at GSA controlled buildings including federal office buildings, federal courthouses, land ports of entry, laboratories, warehouses and other types of federal properties.

The GSA has a requirement to support the Public Buildings Service through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to augment the nation's capital construction program by $5 billion in energy and modernization projects over the next five years.

2009 SAME Industry Award to a Small Business in Support of DoD Programs

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) awarded J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. (JMWA®) the national 2009 SAME Industry Award to a Small Business on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The award, presented to JMWA by Lt. Gen. Robert Van Antwerp - Chief of Engineers and Commanding General, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, recognizes the outstanding support JMWA provided to the Department of Defense during Fiscal Year 2009.

SAME selected JMWA for the award as a result of the company's many accomplishments including innovative work using state-of-the-art geographic information systems, unique aircraft weapon system engineering, creative construction management and military medical outfitting practices and exceptional real property exchange program initiatives.

JMWA Raises more than $12,500 for the Wounded Warrior Project

(Fairfax Station, Virginia)—The Third Annual Run Around the Lake—Run for Wounded Warriors brought in a record $12,512 in donations in support of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), an increase of more than 20 percent compared to the previous record. JMWA organized the third annual 4.7-mile run/walk, along with co-sponsors Halfaker and Associates, LLC and tripol-E, as a way to show support and appreciation for wounded warriors from all branches of the military.

Combined, the three companies covered the cost of the event, ensuring that 100% of the $12,512 raised goes to the Wounded Warrior Project’s mission to honor and empower injured service men and women. A record number of 226 runners and 30 donors combined to form the largest field in the Run Around the Lake’s three-year history. Representatives from WWP participated in the run, and were on hand for a post-run ceremony following the event.

The WWP was founded on the principle that veterans are our nation's greatest citizens, and is committed to honoring and empowering wounded warriors through its many programs. The WWP seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world. The companies presented the donations to WWP on Friday, November 6.


JMWA Wins Multiple 2009 AEGIS Awards

(North Kingstown, RI) - J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. (JMWA®) has won two 2009 AEGIS Video and Film Projection Awards for their Television/News Story work for the Headquarters U. S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE). The Aegis Award is one of the oldest and most respected video/film production contests in the United States. JMWA was chosen as a winner from a field of more than 3000 entries, and was selected as an award recipient for exceptional video and sound production. JMWA also was a finalist for a third award.

The awards were given for the production and direction of three stories created as part of JMWA's day-to-day support of USACE. The stories, Kivalina - USACE Helping Coastal Community in Alaska, Surfin' in New Jersey - USACE Beach Restoration, and The Face of Deployment - USACE Civilians Deploy, were noted for high-quality content, structure, videography, editing and sound. Each story, which was shot and produced by Mary Cochran, include detailed documentation of USACE providing environmental, engineering, housing and human services support to civilians across the U.S.

The mission of the Aegis Awards competition is to provide a forum to recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective video/film productions being produced today.

JMWA Honored with a Merit Award from the 2009 United States Air Force Design Awards Program

(WASHINGTON, DC) J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. (JMWA®) received the Merit Award in the Planning Studies and Design Guides category of the 2009 U.S. Air Force (USAF) Design Awards Program Ceremony held July 23 in Washington DC. JMWA received this award in recognition of achievement of design excellence for their planning and design services related to the Air Force Basic Military Training Campus Replacement Plan.

JMWA served as prime contractor developing the master plan, facility condition assessments, architectural programming and planning, economic analysis, GIS mapping and Geodatabase design for the 2.5 million square foot campus located at Lackland AFB, Texas. The design involves creating two distinct, equal training campuses large enough to accommodate four squadrons each. The plan includes multiple dormitories, physical training areas, drill pads and a combat skills development area.

Local Firms Raise Over $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project

Fairfax, Virginia- October 2008) On a beautiful, early October morning, over 165 runners and walkers, plus several enthusiastic volunteers and onlookers, combined to make the Run for Wounded Warriors at Burke Lake Park a great success. The second annual 4.7 mile run/walk was organized by J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. and Halfaker and Associates, LLC, as a way to show support and appreciation for our wounded warriors. The event took place on Sunday, October 12th and raised $10,090 for the Wounded Warrior Project where 100% of the proceeds will go to support the mission of the organization; which is to honor and empower injured service men and women.

(October 22, 2008) J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. has recently been awarded a construction management contract with renewal options through 2012 with the Army Corp of Engineers, Philadelphia District. Some of the scope of work includes: civil engineering; mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering; architectural engineering; computer sciences; CADD; quality assurance testing & technical support. JMWA and SAIC Enter into DoD Mentor-Protégé Relationship
July 10, 2006

The U.S. Army Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization have approved J. M. Waller Associates, Inc. (JMWA), of Burke, Va., to enter into the Mentor Protégé Program (MPP) with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) of San Diego, Ca. Established in 1991, the Department of Defense (DoD) MPP provides incentives for a prime contractor to mentor small and disadvantaged business so they can compete successfully for government prime contracts and subcontract awards. The mentor-protégé agreement is a three year relationship between JMWA and SAIC.
